Hey there!

Time has really been flying by here at the museum - it's hard to grasp the fact that we're already at the end of June. Summer is half over!

Perhaps the reason time has been flying is because of all the things we've been doing this past little while. As museum assistants, both Pam and I have been kept extremely busy these past few weeks with our book project! A quick recap for any of you reading who haven't yet heard about this adventure the Museum has undertaken: We are compiling stories of the pioneers from the MSA Area who lived or settled here between the years 1890 to 1950. It's a lengthy process, (conducting interviews, making phone calls, mailing letters, etc.) but it has been so fascinating. We have had the opportunity to talk to some truly inspirational, informative, and of course, adorable people. Such a great experience - Especially for history students like us!

Book project aside, we have also been preparing for a couple upcoming events the Museum is partaking in: Firstly, on the 7th and 8th of July we will be at the Berry Festival! We'll have a tent on Montrose Avenue with face painting and bubble fun for the kids. Come say hi!

As well, on July 14th here at Mill Lake we will be having a Cruise In. There will be hundreds of stellar cars to check out, and it should be a really great time! In fact, if you have a car you'd like to register we'd love to have you! To pre-register just give us a call (604 853 0313) or drop by the Museum, and otherwise you can just show up with your snazzy vehicle on the day of!

I think that's all for now. Happy Canada Weekend, everyone!
